Industry Internships and Federal Scholarships

You will want to apply to these!!

Now is the time for students to apply for both industry internships and federal scholarship opportunities for 2016-2017. Students from all engineering majors and related science fields (chemistry, HP, seismic, etc.) are eligible for these opportunities, but they must apply.

Nuclear Utility Internships & Co-Ops

Nuclear utilities are currently in the process of posting their 2016 internship and co-op opportunities. Industry has worked collectively to develop a one-stop location to identify these opportunities on the Center for Energy Workforce Development’s public website named “Get Into Energy Jobs”. Please direct your students to look at these opportunities and inform them that they should check back often as postings are updated daily on this website. –http://getintoenergy.jobs/jobs/?q=nuclear+internship

NEI’s Nuclear Policy Internships

Shameless Self Promotion. The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) is the policy organization of the nuclear energy and technologies industry and participates in both the national and global policymaking process. Interns at NEI will work with seasoned nuclear professionals in one of the following areas: technical, communications, policy development, government relations, legal and conferences on issues critical to the industry.  http://www.nei.org/About-NEI/Employment-at-NEI/Internships

U.S. Department of Energy Scholarship and Fellowship Applications

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) are seeking applicants for undergraduate scholarships and graduate-level fellowships for students studying an engineering or related science field that wish to pursue a career in nuclear energy. Scholarships are $7,500 for one year. The maximum award for a fellowship is $50,000 per year for three years, with an additional one-time $5,000 allotment to fund a minimum 10-week internship at DOE, a DOE national laboratory, or other designated facility. Applications are due on February 10, 2016, and must be submitted using the online submittal system found at NEUP.gov.

ANS Student Conference

Some points to remember!!

UT ANS Button Downs

We are working on designing and ordering button down shirts with our logo for use at conferences and other business casual locations! They will be smokey gray with our logo (at the top of this email) on the side. These will cost what it does to make them! We want everyone to get one to show off our UT pride at professional locations and events! We are projecting ~$30-35.

The officers will be acquiring orange button downs with a white version of the logo. We’ll be able to make a Big Orange show out at conferences!

If you are interested in buying one, please sign up here –> UT ANS Button Down Sign Up
