Now is the time for students to apply for both industry internships and federal scholarship opportunities for 2016-2017. Students from all engineering majors and related science fields (chemistry, HP, seismic, etc.) are eligible for these opportunities, but they must apply.
Nuclear Utility Internships & Co-Ops
Nuclear utilities are currently in the process of posting their 2016 internship and co-op opportunities. Industry has worked collectively to develop a one-stop location to identify these opportunities on the Center for Energy Workforce Development’s public website named “Get Into Energy Jobs”. NEI’s Nuclear Policy Internships
Shameless Self Promotion. The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) is the policy organization of the nuclear energy and technologies industry and participates in both the national and global policymaking process. U.S. Department of Energy Scholarship and Fellowship Applications
The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) are seeking applicants for undergraduate scholarships and graduate-level fellowships for students studying an engineering or related science field that wish to pursue a career in nuclear energy. Scholarships are $7,500 for one year. The maximum award for a fellowship is $50,000 per year for three years, with an additional one-time $5,000 allotment to fund a minimum 10-week internship at DOE, a DOE national laboratory, or other designated facility. Applications are due on February 10, 2016, and must be submitted using the online submittal system found at NEUP.gov.
